Episode #41 Summary:
This week’s guest is the fascinating Hector Garcia. He is the author of international best selling books Ikigai and a Geek in Japan. After earning his MS in software engineering and working for CERN (place of the Higgs Boson) in Switzerland, he moved to Japan, where he worked on voice recognition software and later for Digital Garage, developing the technology needed for Silicon Valley startups like Twitter and Technorati to enter the Japanese market. He has been living in Tokyo since 2004, and has done a straight-forwardly eloquent job of translating the notion, Ikigai, which Japanese would call ‘why you get up in the morning; aligning to your life’s purpose.” Hector is kind and thoughtful, and has an expanded and cultured mindset we can all learn from. Without further delay, here is our chat with Hector Garcia.
