About Dave Nelson:

Dave Nelson is the survivor of a near-death experience, as well as an endurance race competitor, former Silicon Valley sales director, and a leadership mindset and human motivation coach. He’s also a husband and father.

From 2006-2016, Dave worked with companies like EMC, Dell, Nimble Storage, and Rubrik to help them build successful sales teams and build new markets for their products. 

At Nimble Storage, he helped vault the sales team’s revenue from $500,000 a year run rate to over $25 million a year run rate, growing the team from just 2 people to over 25 members, leading all sales, marketing, engineering and channel go-to-market strategies. 

Despite his relatives successes, there came a moment when Dave knew it was time to leave the tech industry. One day Dave’s boss asked him, “If there was one thing you’d want your employees to remember about you when they move on from this company , what would it be?”

Dave said, “I want them know I cared about them.”

When his boss laughed and told him he was was thinking too deeply, he knew it was time to go.
